08 July 1904 - Grand Haven Daily Tribune, p.4 Fase-VanZylen Wedding Last Evening The marriage of Peter H. VanZylen and Miss Dieus Fase of this city occurred last evening at the home of the young couple, corner Columbus and Seventh Sts., in the present of a large number of relatives of the contracting couple, and invited friends. The wedding ceremony took place in the parlor which was tastily and beautifully decorated with ferns and roses. Under a handsome arch the Rev. VanderMeulen of the Second Reformed church said the words that made them man and wife. The bridal couple was attended by Gerrit Musk as best man, and Miss Katie Fase, a sister of the bride, was the bridesmaid. The bride’s gown was a beautiful white lawn and she carried brides roses. The bridesmaid wore a dress of India linen and carried white carnations. After the shower of congratulations the entire party, numbering nearly one hundred, sat down to a sumptuous wedding feast. The balance of the evening was very enjoyably and happily spent. Mr. And Mrs. Fase received an unusually large number of wedding gifts, many of them very valuable. Among the out of town guest were: Mr. and Mrs. A. Baker, Albert and Charles VanZylen, John Oose and son, Mrs. Hamelink, Grand Rapids; Mrs. Cornelius Fase, Ada; Mrs. M. Hektor and daughter Frances, Muskegon; Katie and Aggie DeWitt, Grand Rapids; Tone Poortvliet, Holland. Mr. and Mrs. VanZylen will make their home in the house where they were wedded and have already commenced housekeeping. Both are well known and popular among a large circle of friends, all of whom join in wishing them all measure of success and happiness. |
