Coopersville Observer, August 20, 1909 Charles Bliss Charles Bliss was born at Hemlock Lake, Livingston County, New York, in the year 1834. He was married to Mary Cary in the year 1858. He enlisted in 1863 in the service until the close of the war, when he was honorably discharged, after which he came to Michigan. To Mr. and Mrs. Bliss were born seven children, four boys and three girls, who survive him. Besides the children he leaves a wife, one sister and three brothers to mourn his loss. He united with the M. E. Church in 1867, in which he was a true and faithful member. He was a kind husband and a loving father. His main object in life was for the welfare of his family. He will be greatly missed by those who are left to mourn his loss. He died August 15, 1909, at the age of 74 years. The funeral services were held at his late residence, Tuesday, August 17, conducted by Rev. S. B. Ford. Interment was in the Coopersville Cemetery.
