Mrs. Emma Carpenter of Spring Lake Dies Grand Haven (Special) - Mrs. Emma S. Carpenter, 79, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Storey, Spring Lake, this morning following a year's illness. She was born in Wayne county Nov 10 1873, and lived in Spring Lake and vicinity for the last 47 years. Her husband Charles G. Carpenter, who was a building contractor died May 22 1930. She was a member of the Spring Lake Baptist church.

Surviving are three daughters. Mrs. Oliver L Hendricks and Mrs. Storey of Spring Lake and Mrs. Carl McKnight of Grand Rapids; one son, Charles D. Carpenter of Athol Ida.; 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

The body was taken to Ringold funeral home in Spring Lake. Arrangements had not been completed today.
