Grand Haven Daily Tribune 14 May 1914, p. 1 DEATH OF OLD HOLLAND-RESIDENT Derk Cook Passes Away At Infirmary At Age Of 86 Derk Cook, one of the well known old time Holland residents of Grand Haven, died on Wednesday at the county infirmary at Eastmanville, after a long illness. The body has been brought to the family home in this city at 912 Elliott street and the funeral will be held from there Friday afternoon at two o’clock with burial in Lak4e Forest. The Rev. James Verberg will officiate. Mr. Cook was a native of the Netherlands and was 86 years of age. He came to America forty five years ago, settling in Grand Haven and has lived here ever since. His widow and a daughter, Miss Anna Cook of Muskegon, survive. |
