Rudolph (Roelof) Dalman

Rudolph Dalman, 82 years old, for 20 years a resident of Holland, died Saturday at his home on East 15th Street. Mr. Dalman, who served as a mechanic in the Civil War, was one on the first farmers to settle in this part of Michigan. He was retired from his farm near Beaverdam since the death of his wife a year ago. Mr. Dalman had been failing in health. He is survived by ten children, Mrs. C. Den Herder of Grand Rapids, Mrs. J Farma of Holland, Mrs. P.Winegarden of Hudsonville, Mrs. D. Huyser of Beaverdam, Mrs. H. Schilleman of Holland, Marinus of Beaverdam, Gerrit of Sand Lake, Minn., Joseph of Hudsonville, Theodore of Holland, and Henry of Allegan. He was a member of the First Reformed Church, where services were held Tuesday afternoon.

(Rudolph (Roelf) Dalman served in the 1st Michigan Engineers and Mechanics, Co. K during the Civil War. He is buried in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.)
