Obituary Card of Harold John Allen Repository; Herrick Library, Holland, Michigan Published May 19, 1981 Date of Death was May 18, 1981 Harold John Allen, 58, of 358 Hayes Ave., was dead on arrival Monday at Holland Hospital following an apparent heart attack. Allen was born in Holland and had lived in the area all his life. He was employed at Life Savers Inc. and formerly operated Allen’s Radio Shop for several years. A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of VFW Post 2144. He was a baptized member of Third Reformed Church. Allen is survived by his wife, Doris; three daughters; Mrs. Harold (Sharon) Kuipers of West Olive, Mrs. Glenn (Vicki) Zoerhof of Hamilton, and Mrs. Rodney (Kathy) Dannenberg of Holland; four grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Walter Allen of Holland; two sisters; Mrs. Fred (Jane) Veersma of Holland, and Mrs. James (Helen) Essenberg of Holland; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ray (Doris) Allen of Saugatuck, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Dykstra Northwood Chapel. Visitation will be this evening from 7 to 9. Following cremation, burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
