James A. DeCator, 60, of Rockford passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was a native and former resident of Hudsonville and attended school there.

Surviving are his widow, Marie; one son, Max, of Rockford; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Hiestand and Mrs. Norm Smith, both of Rose City; and six grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, Don of Grand Rapids and Warren of Hudsonville, and two sisters Mrs. Flora Stegeman and Mrs. Ila Nyenhuis, both of Hudsonville.

The funeral was held at the Blanchard Funeral Home in Rockford with interment in Rockford Cemetery.
