DEATH OF A PIONEER – HENRY DE KRUIF

The departing from this life of Henry DeKruif, of Zeeland, Michigan at the age of 60 years, removed from that locality one of the early pioneers, and prominent business men. The deceased was born there and at an early age engaged in the mercantile business, selling farm implements. For many years he has been identified with other industries.

He was at the time of his death a director in the Zeeland State Bank, the Holland-St. Louis Sugar company and the Colonial Manufacturing company. He has had poor health for some time, and his death was not unexpected.

The deceased leaves, besides a widow, one son, Dr. Paul DeKruif of Ann Arbor, a daughter, Lois, and five brothers, John DeKruif of Caulfield avenue; Johanus of Bangor, Mich., Anthony of Zeeland; William of Levering, and Peter of Orange City, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. William VandenBerg of New Holland.

Funeral services were held last Tuesday afternoon from the Second Reformed church.
