23 December 1904 - Grand Haven Daily Tribune, p. 4 An Old Resident Gone Mrs. Jurrien Dykhuis, an old resident of this city, died at shortly before four o’clock this morning after an illness of 12 weeks. During the past few weeks her illness seemed an even more serious turn and there was little hope for her recovery. Mrs. Dykhuis was born in the Netherlands in August seventy-eight years ago and has lived in this city and Holland the greater part of the time. Mrs. Dykhuis was married fifty eight years ago and her husband died five years ago. She is survived by five children, Mrs. R. Sanford of Spring Lake, Sheriff Henry J. Dykhuis of this city, Mrs. Lafayette of Muskegon, Mrs. Lambert Vyn and Miss Rena Dykhuis of this city. Mrs. Dykhuis died at her home on Franklin street where she had made her home with her youngest daughter, Miss Rena Dykhuis for a number of years. The deceased has been a life long member of the First Christian Reformed church to which faith she clung in her old age. Besides the five children, Mrs. Dykhuis is survived by fifteen grand children and ten great grand children, The funeral will be held Monday at two o’clock and the service will be held at the late residence on Franklin street. The burial will be in Lake Forest. |
