Carolyn Edson, 81, of Grand Haven, died Monday, 19 Apr 1999 at a local nursing home.

She was born 1 Feb 1918 in Zeeland to Bert and Martha (Fritz) VanLoo. On 19 Aug 1939, she married Grant Edson, who preceded her in death on 23 May 1998.

Prior to her retirement she was employed for nearly 20 years at Jacobson’s Department Store as a manager in the shoe department. She was active as a volunteer at an area nursing home and was a Gray Lady at Fort Custer Veterans Hospital.

Survivors include her son, Gregg (Dorothy) Edson; four grandchildren, Christine Alicha, Kathy and Ryan Edson; six great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Alternative Funeral Services.
