Mary Ellen Calkins Hill, Coopersville Observer, May 3, 1920

Mary Ellen Calkins was born in Lamont, Michigan, January 18, 1881, and departed this life, April 22, 1920.

She was united in marriage to Judd M. Hill, January 30, 1900. To this union were born three children, one dying in infancy, Mrs. Thelma Wood, of Detroit and Carroll, of Coopersville.

Besides the children, she is survived by her husband; parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Calkins, of Lamont; two brothers, John and George, of Grand Rapids; and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Sutton and Mrs. June Clemments, of Detroit.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church of Lamont, and were conducted by Rev. J. A. Hailwood of Flint, formerly of Grand Rapids and Lamont. Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery, Lamont.
