Gene Marie (Keyzer) Kruis Age 80,  of Hudsonville, MI - was born to Simon and Nellie Keyzer, February 16, 1926. Her earthly journey ended Tuesday, October 10, 2006. Gene was saved unto eternal life by the grace of God, through faith in Jesus Christ. She demonstrated her faith by a godly walk of life, by the power of the Holy Spirit. When she knew her life was ebbing away, with weakened voice, she joined her husband, children and grandchildren gathered around her bed, in singing praises to the Lord. Gene will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Rev. John G. Kruis; her children, Ronald (Susan) Kruis, John (Barbara) Kruis, Nelva (Terry) Michmerhuizen, Kevin (Trena) Kruis, David (Debra) Kruis; her 15 grandchildren; 4 great- grandchildren; her siblings, Marie Zylstra, Peter (Mae) Keyzer, Joan (Frank) Wind; and many nieces and nephews. A time for relatives and friends will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Cook Funeral Home in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW (west building). Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethel United Reformed Church, 2025 Baldwin St. in Jenison.
