Warren Maxfield
Co. B, 5th Michigan Cavalry
Warren A. Maxfield enlisted as private in Co. B, 5th Michigan Cavalry, on August 27, 1862, age 21. He died of typhoid fever in Campbell Hospital in Washington D. C., after being wounded, age 22 years, 6 months, 2 days. His gravestone lists date of death as Nov. 5, 1863.
The Government Record of Death and Interment states that Warren’s body was taken home by his brother, Orren G. Maxfield. Warren’s overcoat was received by Oren G. Maxfield. Oren Gregg Maxfield also served in Co. B, 5thMI Cavalry.
Warren is buried in Maplewood Cemetery, Lamont, Michigan.
