Lamont— Died April 25, at the Soldiers’ Home, Mr. Rufus Miller. Funeral was held at the Congregational Church. (Buried in Maplewood Cemetery, Lamont, MI)

Rufus Miller was admitted to the Soldiers’ Home on July 21, 1890 and died on April 25, 1891. He stated that he was a private in Co. C, 10^th Michigan Cavalry under Captain B. K. Weatherwax. He was disabled because of paralysis of the spinal cord and kidney disease. He enlisted October 17, 1863, age 18, and mustered out August 4, 1865, wife, Louisa A. Miller.
