Morse, Walter, Coopersville Observer, July 4, 1920

Walter Morse was born August 3, 1860 and passed away April 13, 1920, of paralysis at his home near Coopersville, where he was born and lived all but three years of his life. He was married February 22, 1893, to Mattie Hyde of Coopersville who preceded him to the better world. To this union were born four children: Stephen Edward, who died in infancy: Mrs. John Peck of Coopersville; Floyd of Cleveland, Ohio; Leslie and wife who lived with him; four grandchildren are left to mourn; besides two sisters and one brother; also nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He and his wife were both converted in 1895 and baptized. Funeral services were held at the house at two o’clock April 15 and he was laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery. Rev. Jenkins, of Coopersville, officiating.
