Holland City News, Thursday, January 24, 1918 Civil War Veteran Passes Away George Ohlman Had Lived Here Twenty-Three Years George Ohlman, aged 84 years, died Monday evening at his home at 253 First Avenue. The deceased is survived by a widow and the following children: Mrs. G. J. Veldman, Blendon; Mrs. M. Dalman, city; Henry, Zeeland; John, city; Mrs. W. Rief, city. Mr. Ohlman was a veteran of the Civil War. He made his home for 30 years on a farm in Blendon. Twenty-three years ago, the family moved to Holland, where they have lived since. The funeral was held this afternoon at 1 o’clock at the home, the Rev. M. Flipse officiating. Interment will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. (Mr. Ohlman served in the 1st Michigan Engineers, Co. A.) |
