John Schroeder died this morning at his home near the Richard Smith school house at Port Sheldon at the age of 64 years. He had been ill nearly all winter. His wife and 7 children survive.

The funeral services will be held at the home at 10 o’clock Saturday forenoon and at 2 o’clock in the Wesleyan M. E. Church of this city.

(John Schroeder served in the Co. G, 21^st Michigan Infantry during the Civil War and is buried in the Civil War Monument Section of Pilgrim Home Cemetery.)
