John Slabbekoorn, 83 years old, died Saturday night at the home of his nephew, John Jasperse, 1532 Clyde Park avenue. He was born in the Netherlands and came to this country in 1858, with his parents and settled at Buffalo, N.Y., later he moved to Zeeland, where he and two brothers cleared a farm. After farming for a while the brothers moved to the village of Zeeland, where they engaged in the tannery business. He came here about thirteen years ago, making his home with Mr. Jasperse ever since. Private funeral services were held at the Jasperse home Tuesday morning. The body was shipped to Zeeland for burial.
