18 January 1911 - Grand Rapids Daily News, p. 7 Ottawa Pioneer Dies Mrs. S. Ter Haar of Drenthe Taken by Old Age Special to the Daily News Zeeland, Jan. 18.-After a prolonged illness, Mrs. Sanne B. Ter Haar died at the home of her son, Fred Ter Haar, at Drenthe, at the age of 78 years. The deceased was born in the Netherlands, and was a member of the Old Settlers’ association. She came with the early pioneers to this vicinity. Her husband died 11 years ago. The deceased is survived by Henry, Berend, John and Fred of Drenthe; Gerrit of Beaverdam, Albert of Forest Grove, Mrs. Henry A. Lanning of Drenthe, Mrs. H. Hunderman of Grand Rapids, Mrs. G. Van Gerrittsen of Holland and by several grandchildren who mourn her loss. Funeral services were held today from the home and from the Christian Reformed church at Drenthe, Rev. T. Van Der Ark, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was at the Drenthe cemetery. |
