Visitation is Thursday for Roger Van Wieren, 73. The Holland resident died
Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at Appledorn Living Center.
He was born in Holland and was a lifelong resident of the area. He
graduated
from Holland Christian High School. He was a co-owner of Van Wieren
Hardware, in Holland, and established Vacationland Sales and RV Dealership at
Sandy
Pines.
He attended Community Church of Douglas and served in the Army.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jo Compagner, in 1994.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ilah; children, Roxanne and Steve
Farrell, of Winter Haven, Fla., Bonnie and Steven Tuls, of Holland, Shari and
Harold Manshaem, of Grandville; 10 grandchildren; sister, Delores Jean and
Norman Vander Zwaag, of Holland; in-laws, Geneva Van Wieren, of Holland, Marvin
and Esther Honderd, Roger and Til Honderd, both of Byron Center, Marilyn and
Gerald Deemter, of Grand Rapids, Carol Honderd, of Seattle; and several
nephews, nieces and cousins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Community Church of Douglas,

Wiley Road, with the Rev. Dennis J. De Witt officiating.
Burial is in Lakewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the
Northwood Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 295 Douglas Ave., Holland.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Holland.
