MR. VOORHEES IS DEAD

His Gifts to Hope College Amount to $150,000.

Holland, Mich., April 7.-Ralph Voorhees, through whose magnificent gift of $100,000 the election of the Elizabeth T. Voorhees dormitory on Hope College campus was made possible, is dead at his home in Clinton, N.J., at the age of 70 years. Deceased had been blind for nearly 40 years and is survived by a wife in whose honor the dormitory was named.

Mr. Voorhees total gifts to Hope college amounted to $150,000. Of this amount $50,000 was given many years ago toward the support of the endowment. His last gift of $100,000 was divided, $35,000 to be used for the erection of the ladies dormitory and the remainder of $65,000-0 to be added to the endowment.

The new dormitory is one of the most beautiful buildings which adorns the campus.
