Coopersville Observer, March 20, 1891

Died on the 12^th inst., Mr. James Wheeler, a pioneer settler, at the age of 71 years. He came to this township when a young man and settled on the farm on which he has since resided. He was a soldier during the Civil War and did good service for his country. He was a member of Randall Post, G. A. R., also a member of Tallmadge Grange where he was much respected for the good qualities and heart which he manifested. Our sympathy goes out to the bereaved friends.
