Olive Township Historical Society The Olive Township Historical Society was formed in 2004 by a group of five people interested in "Preserving History for the Next Generation". Membership has grown to over 35 members from all over the United States. Olive Township Historical Society website is linked with Olive Township: www.olivetownship.com Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Olive Township Museum/Olive Center School located at 11768 Polk Street. Visitors are welcome. Coming Events - 2008 Memorial Day The Memorial Day Service on May 26, 2008 at Olive Center Cemetery on the corner of Taylor and 116th Ave. at 10:30 am. Please bring lawn chairs.The Memorial Day Community Walk from the Olive Center Cemetery to the Olive Township Museum 11768 Polk Street (formerly Olive Center School/Olive Township Hall) following the service. Transportation provided from the cemetery to the museum and back again. Walkers and bikers are invited to wear patriotic colors, carry flags and decorate in red, white, and blue. Ottawa Church Youth Group’s "50’s Diner" will be serving lunch on the Museum grounds starting at 11 am. In case of inclement weather, the walk will be cancelled and lunch will be served at the GRACE Center on Stanton Street. Olive Township Museum will be open to the public free of charge on Memorial Day from 11am-4 pm and the following Saturday, June 7 from 11am – 4 pm.
