Eastmanville School Board 1864 - A whole new board had to be elected.  J. G. Cosgrove was the teacher from the winter term, 1857 through the summer of 1862. School board officers from 1842-1863 were: Timothy Eastman, Benjamin Hopkins, Henry Griffith, Paschell Maxfield, John V. Hopkins (son of Benj.), Benjamin Cole, Wm C. Comfort (grandson of B. Hopkins), Hannibal A. Hopkins (son of B. Hopkins), Morris Buck, George Eastman and Mason Eastman (sons of Timothy), Albert Dickey, H. Johnson, I. W. Denton (owner of hotel), William Angel (Register of Deeds), Comer B. Show, James M. Kelley, Thomas Lowe, Hub. Fish. 1867 - 113 children attended the school - 8 months of school with children averaging four months of attendance. 1868 - The board considered buying property for a new school.
