At the annual Town meeting of the Town of Tallmadge held at the house of E.
Dalton, 3 April 1854, it was voted
That 4 constables be elected
That the place of the next town meeting be taken on a separate ballot
That $100 be raised to buy liquor and pay the agent
That Overseer of Highways be elected by these districts
John Blair resigned his office of Commissioner of Highways. The following
person were duly elected:

The whole number of votes given for the place of the next Town meeting was one
hundred and twenty-two
The whole number of votes given for the place of the next Town meeting was
one hundred and twenty-two of which at DeWitt's Hotel was sixty-two and at E.
Dalton's was sixty votes.
The whole number of votes given for the office of Supervisor was ninety-eight of
which Charles Alford received ninety-eight votes.
