Fred F. Heller, A Former Resident, Died In Detroit
Fred F. Heller, 68-year old former resident of Rogers City, was the fourth Heller brother claimed by death within the past seven months.
Fred had suffered a heart attack a month ago. He passed away at his home in Detroit early Sunday morning, November 23, 1958, five days
after his brother, Paul, perished with 32 other crew members of the Str. Bradley.
Paul was 45 years old. John Heller, 59, died April 8th and another brother, William, 60, died July 27th, also as the result of heart attacks.
Fred was born in Rogers City December 23, 1889 and moved to Detroit at age 18. He operated a tire and automobile shop there, after serving in
World War I.
Surviving are his wife, the former Irene Vogel; four sisters, Mrs. W.W. Arscott, Mrs. Ben Santimo and Elizabeth Heller, all of Rogers City,
and Mrs. Harold Schultz of Saginaw; and one brother, Edward of Rogers City.
Funeral services were held at eleven o'clock Wednesday morning at the Verheyden funeral home in Detroit, with burial in White Chapel
cemetery there.
