George Friske of Metz Passed Away Wednesday
Seventy-seven-year-old Metz resident, George Friske, died Wednesday at his home, following a two-year illness.
Born in Posen April 6, 1881, he was married to Agnes Mantych May 15, 1905 at St. Dominic's church in Metz, and spent his lifetime there farming.
Surviving, besides his wife, are five sons, Stanley, Daniel, and David of Metz, and Sylvester and Paul of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Alice
Charlebois and Mrs. Mary Litwinski of Detroit; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Anthony and Joseph of Metz and John of Saginaw and two sisters,
Mrs. Helen Chrzan of roghers City and Mrs. Bertha Peplinski of Alpena. Mr. Fiske was a member of St. Dominic's church, where funeral services
were held Saturday morning at ten o'clock, following 9:30 services at the family home. Rev. Zigmund Gaj officiated. Burial was in the church
cemetery, with arrangements by the Gatzke Funeral Home.-Presque Isle Advance, Dec. 4, 1958
