Our picture this week comes from our postcard collection. The picture is looking south at what our locals our age today still refer to as "The Curve." I have many fond memories of swimming and picnics there. It was a safe place for nonswimmers and children alike, as you had to walk out into the lake for a long ways to get past your knees. Many children got their bath at the curve during the summer. How many, of you old-timers out there can relate to a bar of sandy Palmolive Soap. Sometimes that bar of soap got dropped often. The Curve had its drawbacks also, like broken beer bottles, leaches and poison ivy, just to mention a few. Next week we will turn north and see what's in that direction. And no Bob H., the bird on the stump is not a partridge.
