1954 - Calcite Receives an Award for Safety by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company From Presque Isle County Advance and Onaway Outlook December 19, 2024

   
CAPTION: Liberty Mutual Insurance Company presented Lewis J. Patterson, manager
of operations of the Calcite Plant, with an award for 1,300,000-man hours of
safe work.  This award was presented at the end of the 1954 season.  In other
plant news, Christian F. Beukema (photo, lower right) was appointed president
of the United States Steel Corporation.
