CAPTION: Onaway Community Federal Credit Union conducted the annual meeting with 381
members present. Of particular interest in January 1970 was the president's report
by Mike O'Meara, which he talked of dividends on savings, being raised from 4.75 to 5
percent in 1969; while interest rates stayed at 1 percent per month, that with the 10
percent interest refund would make the annual interest rate 10.8 percent. During 1970,
some new services were being analyzed such as group automobile insurance, a method to
furnish money orders and travelers checks to members, as well as plans for office
expansion and remodeling. As noted last week, a new building was opened in 1980.
