CAPTION: A class of 20 graduated from the hunter safety class taught by Presque Isle County Sheriff Duane Badder. Badder told the class, "No piece of venison is worth your life. Be very careful. Think - then act sensibly." There were five class sessions over the course of five weeks, covering the basics of hunting. There were 19 boys and one girl, who learned the components of rifles, shotguns and archery equipment, as well as suggested safety and survival items to carry into the field. In other Onaway news, ambulance board chairman Ray Schack accepted the keys to a new ambulance from Ken Holden of Dennis Distributers of Flint. The purchase of the new ambulance was to provide much improved and more efficient care for the sick and injured of the Onaway area.
