CAPTION: Sixty years ago, what appear(sic) to have been a series of small tornadoes
swept across Presque Isle County causing widespread damage estimated to be
as much as $400,000.  The violent winds may have touched down first in the 
Hawks area where the Haske Store was demolished and the surrounding trees
twisted and uprooted.  Also damaged was the Belknap Township Hall with
cement blocks scattered hither and yon.
