CAPTION: The Most Rev. Edmund C. Szoka, Bishop of the Gaylord Diocese, came to Onaway Oct. 2, 1978 and formally dedicated the new St. Paul Catholic Church Community Hall. Szoka celebrated the Mass Of Dedication in St. Paul Catholic Church. In his comments during the Mass, Szoka congratulated all those responsible for the construction of the new hall. In other Onaway news, work was in progress for the annual Onaway High School homecoming that was going to be held as part of the football game with Kalkaska. School hall decorations were in the planning stages and float construction had begun. The floats were to be judged during the parade along State Street. The homecoming queen was to be crowned at halftime. On the advertising honor roll was Schell Auto Center with an early bird special. A Yard-Man snow thrower was going for $199.95.
