CONKLIN, Melvin Granger Jr.

8-13-1991 RichmondMelvin Granger Conklin Jr., 65, died suddenly Saturday, Aug. 10, 1991, in his home.
He was born Aug. 18, 1925, in Detroit and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Conklin was employed by the Grand Trunk and Port Huron and Detroit railroads. He was a self-employed excavator prior to retirement. He was a World War II veteran.
Mr. Conklin is survived by his wife, Frances Ellen; a son, Darrell Dean Conklin of Richmond; two daughters, Carolyn Ann Seifert and Mary Jane Schantz, both of Smiths Creek; five drandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Lou Conklin; his parents, Melvin Sr. and Gladys Conklin; and a brother, Jack Conklin.
All organs and tissues were donated. Arrangements for cremation were by the John N. Diszewski Funeral Home-Hensch Chapel in Richmond.
