Mrs. Harvey Phillips spent Monday evening at the home of her
friend, Mrs. Raymond Russell on Rush St., where they played
pinochle, and were served chocolate pie and coffee for
dessert. Other guests were Mrs. Harold Brown of Dearborn
and Mrs. William Resch of Garden City.
Mrs. William Cawthon and her son Martie, of Dearborn were the
Monday dinner guests of Mrs. Murray Krupp and her son, David,
of Farmington Rd. Mr. Cawthon and Mr. Knupp had gone
deer hunting, so the ladies joined forces to keep each other
company.
Mrs. Robert MacKenzie of Farmington Rd. was hostess to a toy
demonstration Tuesday morning at her home. She served
the ladies coffee and doughnuts while they examined the
selection of Christmas toys. The demonstrator was Mrs.
Ann Cook of Inkster. Her guests were: Mrs. Joe Abron,
Mrs. Arthur Whiting, Mrs. William Frank, Mrs. Gerald Falshaw,
Mrs. Kurt Krickson, Mrs. V. G. Peterson and Mrs. Murray Knupp.
Harvey Phillips of Farmington Rd. attended the Michigan vs.
Michigan State football game last Saturday afternoon with
Elwood Irish of Dearborn. The only unfortunate occurrence
to mar the Michigan victory was a slight automobile accident
on the return trip in which no one was hurt, but quite a bit
of damage was done to the Phillips car.
Mrs. Kurt Eriskson of Farmington Rd. was also hostess at a toy
demonstration last Wednesday afternoon. Many mothers are
finding these demonstrations convenient for advance Christmas
shopping.
The six-year-old daughter of Mrs and Mrs. Kurt Erickson, Vicky
celebrated her birthday on Monday evening by inviting her
friend, Elaine MacKenzie for supper and cake and ice cream.
