My Great Grandfather, William Rowland (1874-1946) was Cheif Engineer on steamer "Wyandotte". His sons James and Allan were on other ships of the Wyandotte line ("Conneaut", "Alpena", "Huron"). His brother Robert Rowland was an engineer on the Pittsburgh line. I would appreciate sources of info on these ships. I am told the Wyandotte line carried coal and stone, and the Pittsburgh line carried ore. Also that the
"Wyandotte", commissioned in 1908 was the first self-unloader. I'm new to all of this, so any info would be appreciated. Thanks .
