Evan Heber BENOY "My Youngest"

Evan Heber BENOY was b. 22 Dec 1890 in Owosso or Ionia City, MI to parents Clarence Eugene BENOY (1858-1935) and Olive Mabel “Lora” WILLIAMS (1859-1945) who were married 17 Oct 1883 in Knox Co., OH. Evan had two siblings, Ruth A. BENOY (1885-1918) and Carey Williams or William BENOY (1887-1963) in addition to a brother Elmer COLT (1880-1985) who was his mother’s son from a previous marriage. Evan married Ruth Jean RICHARDSON (1891-1983) on 25 Aug 1917 in Owosso, MI and they had three children including Robert Evan; Beth Emogene; and Jean Agatha BENOY, all born between 1918 and 1922. Evan died 26 Apr 1925 in Owosso or Flint, MI and is buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Owosso, MI.  

This old photograph of Evan Heber BENOY was taken at the Gault Studio in Ionia, MI when he was just 2 years old in the 1890's. He is photographed with a basket of apples and notes on the back of the photograph include "selling apples" and "youngest" and "my boy girl".

Nettie L. GIBSON

Nettie Loretta GIBSON was b. 5 Jun 1894 in White Oak, MI to parents George Ambrose GIBSON (1869-1946) and Minnie Adel WOLVERTON (1873-1952) who were married 11 Nov 1891 in Meadville, MI. Nettie was the only child born to this couple. Nettie was married twice, first to Verb H. OLIN (b. 1889) on 12 Jan 1915 in Kalamazoo, MI and they were divorced in 1919. Her second marriage was to Floyd Ellsworth BROWN (1891-1965) on 1 Jul 1937 in Flint, MI. It doesn’t appear that Nettie had any children with either husband. Nettie died 15 Mar 1978 in Kalamazoo, MI and is buried in the Riverside Cemetery in that city.  

This old studio photograph of Nettie L. GIBSON was taken at the Van Slyke Studio in Mason, MI. Nettie is identified as being 11 weeks and 2 days old at the time the photograph was taken, sometime in the 1890's.

Flossie Belle HERRICK of Davison

Flossie Belle HERRICK was b. 26 Jun 1890 in Davison, MI to parents Charles Ferdinand HERRICK (1865-1941) and Belle Sophronia FENNER (1867-1939) who were married 30 Mar 1884 in Genesee Co. MI. Flossie appears to have been their only child. Flossie married Edgar or Edwin Addison HALL (1882-1953) on 18 Oct 1906 or 18 May 1907 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and they had four children including Darlene Flossie Belle or Bell; Parline; Madeline or Madoline Wuanita or Wanneta; and Tracy Edgar HALL, all born between 1907 and 1932. Flossie died 13 Jul 1963 in Ypsilanti or Dixboro, MI and is buried in the Davison Cemetery in Davison, MI.  

This old photograph of Flossie HERRICK was taken by the Electric Photo Studio in Grand Rapids, MI. Flossie appears to be in her 20's at the time the photograph was taken, most likely sometime between 1907 and 1921.

Roy J. BOLOCK

Roy J. BOLOCK was b. 13 May 1892 in Carmel, MI to parents Charles A. BOLOCK (1866-1911) and Florence M. QUANTRELL (1870-1958) who were married 13 Nov 1889 in Chester, MI. Roy had one sibling, a brother Claud Ocy BOLOCK (1897-1909). It appears that his mother married a second time, to Cyrus M. KILMER (1862-1939) and they had a son, Ralph KILMER (1900-1933). Roy married Mildred Thompson LAMONTE or LAMONT or LA MONTE(1896-1962) on 7 Mar or 12 Feb 1915 in Flint, MI. Roy died 2 Sept 1977 in St. Petersburg, FL and is buried in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte, MI.  

This old photograph of Roy BOLOCK was taken at the Beardsley Studio in Charlotte, MI. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890’s with Roy likely less than one year old at the time.

Albert N. OLDFIELD

Albert N. OLDFIELD was b. Jan 1845 in Chatham, OH to parents James M. OLDFIELD (1816-1857) and Lucy L. PALMER (1817-1886) who were married 4 Jun 1840 in Bellville, OH. Albert had a sister Aura E. OLDFIELD (1845-1849). Albert married Lucy M. YOUNG (1848-1904) on 20 Sept 1871 in Genesee, MI and together they had two children including, Julia OLDFIELD (b. 1874) and Lucy or Lucie Elizabeth OLDFIELD (b. 1883). Albert died 2 Mar 1907 in Atlanta, GA and is buried in the Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, GA.  

This old photograph of Albert OLDFIELD was taken at the G. Fields Studio in Toledo, OH sometime in the 1860's. Albert appears to be in his teens at the time the photograph was taken.
