- BROOKS, MCLARGIN posted by
Judy on Tuesday, December 9, 1997
- I am researching the BROOKS family of Gladwin County. Charles A. BROOKS and his wife May
A. MCLARGIN raised a large family in Gladwin County. I have located birth records for some
but not all of the children: Birt, born 1883; Edward, born 1885; Jane, born 1887; Melissa,
born 1891; Orpha, born 1893; Augusta, born 1895; Pheobe, born 1897 (also known as Doris);
Charles, born 1899; Anna, born 1901 (also known as Lillian); and Callie, born 1903. I have
information on all the siblings, but need to find out the names of Charles A.'s parents
and if he had any brothers or sisters. He was suppose to have been born in Canada.

- BROWN, CRIPPS, EAGLESON, EMMERICH, EMRICK, FOOR, LINTON posted by Duane L. Emrick on
Monday, December 22, 1997
- My Emrick family came to Gladwin in 1906 (Geo. & Eliz. (Blank) Emrick. The
descendants married Brown, Cripps, Eagleson, Foor, Linton, and others. We held our Family
at the Buckeye Twp. Hall for many years on the third Sunday in July. Currently they are
being held at the "Old Lions Club" in Freeland, Michigan. This summer will be
our 60th Reunion. Many people will know of the Emrick's due to Harvey or Lyle Emrick who
ran the FTD Flower shop in Gladwin for decades and also held positions in the city of
Gladwin.

- SPINK posted by Colleen Stokes
on Saturday, January 24, 1998
- I am looking for any kind of records (land, tax, birth, etch) on a family named Spink.
Charles & Ruby Spink had at least two daughters Alice and Mary born in Gladwin county.
Alice was born in Sage twp in 1888. I am trying to locate where they lived and if they
owned land. Another daughter, Dora, born in 1880 is said to have been born in Cora Lake,
Clare county, but I cant find a record of this lake and am wondering, since the birth
certificate was a delayed registration by about 40 years, if maybe her recollection was
mixed up with some place in Gladwin. Did Gladwin have any special census records for off
years, ie. 1885 or 1894? Thanks for any help.
