Importance of Volunteerism and Cooperation
Please share with us what you can, whether it be a suggestion for a new link, or a transcription of original records. Our many volunteers are an invaluable part to the Project. Without them, none of this would be possible.

Preservation of Work and Matter of Succession in Case of Emergency
Should one of the current Kent County Michigan GenWeb Project Coordinators be unexpectedly unable to fulfill her duties or obligations to the site, control of the information on this website should revert to her Co-County Coordinator. Should both coordinators become unable to serve, control would revert to the MIGenWeb Coordinator. Before any changes are implemented and a new coordinator selected, all the information herein should be completely duplicated and archived in both digital and printed paper form. Copies should be placed at the Grand Rapids Public Library, the Library of Michigan and in the collection of the Western Michigan Genealogy Society. Control of the information should be shared by the remaining County Coordinator and MIGenWeb Project State Coordinator until a new County Coordinator can be selected. The System Administrator is hereby granted permission to transfer control of the site to the individuals described above and to release account/password information as needed.

Associations and Affiliations
This site is not an official Kent County government site, nor is it officially affiliated in any way with the Kent County government, Kent County Chamber of Commerce, any municipal or township governments or chambers of commerce, the Western Michigan Genealogical Society, local historical societies, the Grand Rapids Public Libraries or the Kent District Library. However, this site is grateful for all the contributions of these organizations to preserving area history and genealogy resources.

About the Kent County Coordinators
Evelyn Sawyer has become the Kent County Gen Web Co-County Coordinator taking Jennifer Godwin's place as of August, 2001.  evlynsaw@comcast.net. (New email as of January, 2006)  She lives in Hudsonville, Michigan and has been very involved with the Western Michigan Genealogical Society.

Mindy Koole has replaced Cyndi Kuhlman as volunteer coordinator, 2004.

Cyndi Kuhlman has become the Kent County GenWeb Co-Coordinator and is taking Ronnie Aungst' place in charge of coordinating volunteers as of August, 2001.  Cyndi lives in Wyoming, Michigan and has been very involved in Western Michigan Genealogical Society

Jennifer Godwin became the new Kent County Michigan GenWeb Coordinator in February 1999. She became Co-Coordinator in November 1999. Please contact her if you have any comments or questions about this page. She lives in Mountain View, California. Her great-great-great- granduncle William R. Godwin came to the Grand River area in about 1836 with his brother Henry. They settled in the southwestern portion of the county. The Godwin Heights area is named after this family, the school district in particular being in honor of William R. Godwin's son Augustine, long-time Wyoming Twp. supervisor and school superintendent.

Ronnie Aungst has served as Kent County Michigan GenWeb Co-County Coordinator in November 1999 and as Assistant Kent County Michigan GenWeb Coordinator since May 1999. She is a former MIGenWeb Coordinator for Roscommon County. She lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ronnie also serves as the MIGenWeb Coordinator for Chippewa County, Michigan.

Mary Del Rivette was the original Kent County Michigan GenWeb Coordinator and served from the establishment of the site in 1996 to year-end 1998.
