STATE OF MICHIGAN, County of Lapeer, ?

We, the undersigned, Clerk and Treasurer of said county, do hereby certify that an association for banking purposes, has been duly organized under the provisions of “An act to organize and regulate banking associations:” approved March 15, 1837, by the name and style of the ‘Bank of Lapeer,’ with a capital stock of fifty thousand dollars: said bank is located in the village of Lapeer, in the township of Lapeer, county of Lapeer aforesaid, and that the president and directors of said association have given security in accordance with the provisions of said act.

Given under our hands, at Lapeer, this 9th day of December, 1837.
