FROZEN TO DEATH.—On Wednesday morning of last week, we were exceedingly pained to hear of the death of Samuel Alvord, and old printer, who has resided in Lapeer for some years. It appears that he was down in Lapeer the day preceding his death, for the purpose of disposing of some farm products, and left the village for home in the afternoon, since which time nothing was heard of him until he was found frozen to death by the roadside. "He has worked off his last sheet," bid adieu to the cares and trials of mundane life, and gone to that bourne where his "proof may be revised," and his good deeds safely "locked up," and where neither "pi" nor corruption can exist. May his ashes rest in peace!—Lapeer Republican. East Saginaw Courier (East Saginaw, MI) Thursday, 5 Apr 1860, page 2 Back to Newspaper Articles Related to Lapeer County Genealogy |
