Azel O. Belcher was born October 4, 1860 and passed away at his home near Six Lakes, February 10, 1928, aged 67 years, 4 months and 6 days. Mr. Belcher was born in Lenawee county, Michigan and resided with his parents until his marriage with Lydia Anna Picking, April 9, 1892. To this union were born six boys and one girl. Mr. and Mrs. Belcher moved near Blanchard in April 1894 and resided on their farm until death called Mrs. Belcher. In 1920, Mr. Belcher moved to Summerville near Six Lakes where he spent the remainder of his days. Mr. Belcher was a good neighbor and always jolly. He was well liked by children as well as the older people. He seemingly was well and healthy until Thursday, February 2, 1928, when he was stricken with paralysis from which he never recovered. Mrs. Belcher preceeded her husband in death with paralysis also, July 13, 1913 and one son, John, passed away May 6, 1924. He leaves to mourn their loss one daughter, Mrs. Ida Reed of Royal Oak; and five sons, Henry G. of Deteoit; William F., of Belding; Walter C., of Royal Oak; Oscar A., of South Dakota and Calvin A. of Iowa and eighteen grandchildren, also a great many friends. Funeral services were held at the United Brethren church, Six Lakes, February 13th, 1928. Rev. J. Elmer Lutz, officiating.
