John E. Belcher was born near Blanchard July 3, 1898 and died at the home of his father near Six Lakes, May 5, 1924 at the age of 25 years, 10 months and 2 days. He remained at home until the age of sixteen when he went to Iowa where his brother Calvin lives, remaining there a year. Since then he has worked in Detroit until three years ago, when he was taken sick. He has made his home with his sister, Mrs. Ida Reed, and with his father since then. He bore his suffereings patiently and when the last came he passed peaceably away. He leaves a father, one sister, five brothers, besides nephews and nieces and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
John Belcher son of A. O. Belcher of Six Lakes, formerly of this place, died at his father's home Monday morning at 8:30. The cause of his death was tuberculosis. The funeral will be held at Six Lakes, tomorrow (Thursday) at 2 p.m. Interment at Decker cemetery.
