This institution located on Michigan Avenue, just north of Maple Street was established in January 1903, by Peter C. and Chris A. Peterson, the firm being known as Peterson Bros. Both men have had many years practical experience, the former being employed in this business for three years at Manistee and 14 years in Big Rapids, while the latter was for 18 years employed in laundry work at Kalamazoo and for two years at Minneapolis. They have equipped their laundry with the best of modern appliances, their very large machine for flat work known as the "Chicago additional mangle," being the only one of the kind in Michigan. The active charge of the business is in the hands of the younger brother, Chris, who had a practical knowledge of all branches of the business, while the marking, tying up and checking is looked after by Peter C.
The quality of work turned out by this firm is of a very high order and they have a large abd growing constantly business sending out five baskets per week to other towns which have transferred their business from Grand Rapids laundries to this firm.
