William Ranshaw was born in New York, July 4th, 1868, and died Sept. 12th, 1923, aged 55 years, 2 months and 8 days. He was united in marriage to Stella Scofield in August 1891. To this union was born 13 children, one of who preceded him to that better world in infancy. There remains to mourn the loss of a dear husband and kind father, the widow and 12 children; also a mother, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 5 grandchildren, besides many other relatives and a host of friends. William Ranshaw was a Past Grand of Barryton I.O.O.F. Lodge. He joined the Order Oct. 8, 1914, at Barryton, and was a devoted member, ever living up to the grand principles, "Friendship, Love and Truth. His Bro. members attended his funeral in a body and had charge of the services, which were held at the East Fork Church of Christ, at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 15th. Elder Garder preached a feeling and eloquent sermon. The body was laid to rest in the cemetery north of the church. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful. The bereaved widow and family are extended the most sincere sympathy of the people of the community in their deep sorrow. |
