information: The Briggs, unknown (name scratched out) most likely is Luther
Briggs. Luther Briggs married his FIRST cousin Alta Briggs. She was the daughter
of Rufus Worden Briggs. Family legend says, the family would not accept their marriage.
When Luther died and was buried, the family members removed Luther’s name from
the tombstone.
