George R. Gallus
(June 11, 1929 - March 20, 2007)
 

George R. Gallus, age 77, of N1211 E. Tie Lake Rd., Wetmore died on Tuesday March 20, 2007 at Marquette General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband of Patricia whom he married on January 8, 1951, and brother to Leigh. Devoted Father to Gay (Richard) Bostick and Lynn (Al) Steiger. Grandfather to Nikki, Jesse, Rachel, Katie, and Chris. Uncle to Lori (Jerry) Adams, Jan (Steve) Smith, Frank, John (Mary) and Bill (Lisa) LaRocca. Proud veteran of the United States Army and the Tri-County Volunteer Fire Department. Although George was originally from the Detroit area, he loved the Upper Peninsula where he spent many happy hours camping, hunting, and exploring. Upon retirement in 1988, George and Pat moved into a home they built on Tie Lake fulfilling a lifelong dream. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Lillian Gallus. No public services are planned. George will be sadly missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
