Sarah Glovak, age 89, of 300 W. City Park Drive and formerly of Hamtramck, Michigan died on Monday, December 4, 2006 at 11:50 a.m. at the Tendercare Health Center. She was born on June 20, 1917 in Hamtramck to Anthony and Wanda Cymbalski. Sarah married Woodrow “Woody” Glovak on October 14, 1939. They were married over fifty-seven years when he preceded her in death on December 9, 1996. Sarah went to work for Chrysler and also earned her cosmetology license and worked at her sister’s beauty shop in Port Huron. She retired from Chrysler after thirty years of service. Sarah was a hard worker and enjoyed crocheting and gardening.
She is survived by her son – Dan Glovak of Troy; daughter and son-in-law – Darlene and Jim Bandeff of Chatham; daughter-in-law – Janet Glovak of Farmington Hills; grandchildren – Christin, Jessica, Sarah, Millicent and Wallace; great-grandchildren – Caleb, Abigail, and Hannah; sister - Albina Galat of Port Huron; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Woody; granddaughter - Gilliah, brothers – Joseph, Anthony and Thomas; sisters – Mary, Louise, Stella, Lottie and Wanda; and one infant sibling.
There will be no local services for Sarah, but a graveside service will be held in the spring at the cemetery in Ruby, Michigan where she will be buried with her family.
