She was born June 17, 1944 in Munising, Michigan, the daughter of Leo and Evelyn (Morin) Colbus. On May 20, 1967, Anita married Denis G. Hurst who survives. After living for nearly 30 years in Lansing, Anita and Denis moved to Grant Center in 1998 where they have lived since.

Along with her husband, Anita is also survived by 3 children. Richard and Craig, (Rachel) Moore, both of Lansing , and Lisa Woroniecki of Sparta; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; a sister, Cleo (George) Steinhoff of Munising; a brother, Denis (Anita) Colbus of Munising; her father-in-law, Fred Grant Hurst of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. A son, Denis Grant Hurst, Jr.; a sister, Marilyn Cooper; and a brother, Lee Colbus, preceded Anita in death.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Rev. Sueann Hagan officiating. Burial will follow at the Grant Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Anita's name may be left at the funeral home were her family will greet friends on Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
