Stephanie Lynn Nordness
(September 16, 1949 - October 21, 2006)
 

Stephanie Lynn Nordness, age 57, of E. Second Avenue, Trenary, MI passed away October 21, 2006, at home with her family beside her. Stephanie was born on September 16, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Leslie and Signe (Aho) Cady. She attended Trenary High School and graduated in 1967. Upon graduation, Stephanie worked for Capital Business of Marquette. On July 22, 1972, Steph married Craig Alan Nordness of Cambridge, Wisconsin. She traveled extensively with Craig who was in the Air Force. Upon her husband’s retirement from the military, Steph and her family returned to Trenary to live. Stephanie worked, and loved her job, as a special education para professional for the Superior Central School System in Eben Junction, MI.

Stephanie is survived by her husband of over thirty-four years – Craig; two sons - Brett Alan Nordness of Ft. Atkinson, WI and Adam John (April) Nordness of AuTrain, MI; grandsons - Colin and Logan of Ft. Atkinson, WI and Aidan and Owen along with a precious one due of AuTrain; her special foster son - Nathan Quattrin of Munising, MI; brothers - Greg (Doris) Cady, Curtis Cady, and Ty (Mercy) Cady all of Trenary; sisters -Cheryl (Dennis) Stanek of Gladstone, MI, and Joni (Rick) Hendrickson and Kelly (Dan) Heinonen of Trenary; father-in-law - Jerome Nordness of Jefferson, WI; brothers and sisters-in-law - Michael Nordness of Cambridge, WI, Peggy (Emmett) Grady of Fall River, WI, and Susan Nordness of Sun Prairie, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Signe (Aho) Cady of Trenary and her mother-in-law, Iris Nordness of Cambridge, WI.

A memorial service honoring Stephanie will be conducted by Rev. Paul Kelto on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising. Visiting time with family and friends will be from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Stephanie.
